BlackBerry PlayBook to get BlackBerry 10 after first BB10 phone ships

I personally feel that RIM is taking some great steps to become a leader in mobile innovation and products once again. The Canadian company has BlackBerry 10 set for a fall release later this year, alongside new phone hardware. But what about existing hardware?

Well, let's get the bad news out of the way first: if you own a BlackBerry 7 device, don't expect to join in on the BB10 party in October – your devices are probably not getting an upgrade. But if you have a BlackBerry PlayBook, you're in luck (but you knew that already). The BlackBerry Developer team took to Twitter today to let owners of the 7-inch tablet know that they will be receiving an update to BlackBerry 10 after the first phone running the next-gen platform is released.

Unfortunately, that's where the team's mouths shut. We'll have to wait a bit longer to see what BB10 will look like on both phones and tablets. In the meantime, how are you enjoying your PlayBook and are you excited to see what new life BlackBerry 10 will breathe into it?
