If you’re running Android 4.2, make sure to update the Amazon Appstore

amazon appstore update - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

A funny thing has been happening to me since I updated my ASUS Nexus 7 to Android 4.2 – the Amazon Appstore doesn’t ever seemed to stay signed in; every time I open the app, I am asked to provide my email address and password. Normally this wouldn’t be a big deal, as I don’t use the app that much, but another app that I use quite a bit, that I also purchased ages ago in the Amazon Appstore – Root Explorer – kept asking me to sign in to Amazon in order to use the app.

As you can imagine, that got really annoying really fast. However, I just thought that I must be doing something wrong, and I decided to deal with the problem later.

Luckily, the problem has already been dealt with, and I didn’t have to do much of anything. Amazon has just released an update to the Appstore that fixes this sign in bug, and it’s available now. To download it, just open the Appstore on your device, press the menu button, and navigate to Settings Version and Release NotesCheck For Update. If you’re running the most recent version of the Appstore, your version number should be 4.3.14.3C.

If you’ve been suffering from this issue, be glad that you’re not alone, and that a quick update will take care of the problem without you having to do anything too complicated yourself. I know I’m happy – however, it does seem like Android 4.2 has broken a lot of things, doesn’t it?
