LG Chromebase for sale in Australia for over $500

Chromebase

While there’s no official word yet on a US release date or price yet, LG recently officially revealed that its upcoming LG Chromebase will release in April in Australia for the somewhat steep asking price of $599 in Australian dollars – just under $540 in USD. The Chromebase is an all-in-one PC with a custom-built white Chrome-style keyboard.

Here are the most important specs:

  • Display: 21.5-inches, 1920 x 1080 IPS
  • CPU: Intel 4th Generation CPU, Haswell Celeron
  • Network: WiFi : 801.11 a/b/g/n (2.4G/5G, Dual Band)
  • LAN : Ethernet 10/100/1000 mbps
  • Bluetooth: 4.0
  • Audio: 5W x 2 built-in Speakers
  • USB 3.0 x 1, USB 2.0 x 3 / MIC-In
  • Webcam: 1.3M HD
  • Mic: Stereo
  • HDMI x 1
  • Dimension/ Weight: W x H x D : 528.6mm X 396.8mm X 189.2mm
  • Weight : 4.6kg

The device is unique in that it’s the first Chrome OS device that comes with a large built-in desktop monitor. It’s certainly an interesting product, albeit a little expensive given its specs and what the competition looks like in the Windows all-in-one arena. As soon as we get US release details, we’ll be sure to pass them on.
