Prepaid T-Mobile SIM cards are now free

T-Mobile free SIM

Just a short while after we first realized that T-Mobile SIM cards were being practically given away for only $0.99, we’ve come to find out that prepaid SIM cards are now quite literally being given away for free – and this includes free shipping, too.

Now’s the time to stock up, and even future proof: orders are still being restricted to two SIM cards per order, although multiple orders are allowed. However, due to the high demand for these free SIM cards, T-Mobile’s online ordering system is a little bogged down: I experienced several delays and error messages, which were solved by simply refreshing the order page. T-Mobile was also unable to process a third order (after two previous orders, for a total of four SIM cards), so there may be some kind of unadvertised limit on the free SIM cards.

As discussed extensively in the comments, these SIM cards should work for prepaid and postpaid plans – and even if they don’t, they’re free, so why not pick up a few?

Yeah. I did end up grabbing two nano SIM cards for free for future proofing purposes.

I figured, for free, why not? Hopefully they won’t expire, but if they do, I’ve lost nothing.

That’s funny… I saw the post yesterday(?) about them being 99 cents, and thought to myself “I remember them being free once… I’ll just wait until they are free again.”

Looks like I didn’t have to wait very long… Thanks for the heads up!

I think I will just go to a T-Mobile store once I have my Nexus in hand.
Gonna give it a “No commitment” try. ATT just is not what I expect it to be by now. To be fair though, I am running a 3yr old device. But to be able to switch out a SIM card would be Great. Especially if T-Mobile works where ATT sucks.
Maybe it is time for dual SIM, no contract devices in the USA. Nexus 6?
