Readers, are you hearing loud clicks on your HTC One M8 since the latest OTA?

HTC One M8 (Sprint) glamor shots

Pocketables reader Jared M. recently wrote in with a problem with his HTC One M8. It seems that ever since he accepted that “urgent” OTA update that was supposed to fix various connection problems on the device, he’s been hearing very loud clicks when on phone calls and using a wired headset. Specifically, he writes:

I have noticed over the past few weeks a very loud click (like a static shock sound) when pressing the end button on my phone, to the point I have to remove the ear piece from my ear before ending the call. So far the problem is only calls and only with a hard connection to phone, not Bluetooth. I have have spoken to HTC support, and they confirmed that there is a noticeable disconnect sound from certain providers, but were unaware of this specific issue with Sprint.

For me it almost sounds like a shock each time End is pressed. Maybe your readers could sound off if they are having issues when corded. Issue may have been caused buy recent QOS update.

What’s interesting here is that HTC has admitted to a problem, but not necessarily with Sprint.

So, Pocketables readers, now is the time to sound off. Are you experiencing this or similar problems since the latest OTA update? If so, let us know what your provider is, whether you are rooted or not, and if so, what ROM you’re running.

Thanks, Jared!
