Ring in the new year with the iPhone?
Just release it already!
Hot off the heels of the recently granted Apple iPhone patent comes word from Digg and Diggnation’s Kevin Rose that the highly anticipated device will finally step off the rumor mill and into reality in January 2007. Reportedly featuring a slide-out keyboard, touch screen, and two batteries (one for phone functions, one for music playback), the iPhone will sell for $249 (4GB) and $449 (8GB) and be supported by all major carriers. Engadget disputes most of the new information, claiming that the phone will not have a QWERTY keyboard or touch screen and will only be offered by Cingular (GSM with 3G) at launch.
I don’t care who’s right. All I want to know is which concept photo (compiled above by RoughlyDrafted) is on target. It wouldn’t exactly be a shame if everyone were wrong . . .
