iLoad adds support for iPhone

Iload_iphoneUp until yesterday, the Wingspan iLoad enabled CD-to-iPod (3G onward) transferring of full albums or single tracks (up to 5x) without iTunes or even a computer. Today the $299 stand-alone device, which will begin shipping next month, has been confirmed to work with the iPhone.

The iLoad measures 8" x 7.25" x 3.35" and weighs in at a very hefty 4 pounds. It comes equipped with the iLoad Master Database (equivalent to Gracenote CDDB), which can be updated daily with newly released music via a hardwire Internet connection (free for first year, $9.95/year for subsequent years) or monthly, quarterly, or yearly via a CD subscription. The information will then be transferred with the music when a CD is inserted and the iPhone is plugged in.

Wingspan also makes the $129 iLoad +  (requires original iLoad) for cable/satellite TV content and the iLoad-c for downloading music directly onto iPod Nanos.
