FlipStart gets $500 price reduction

Flipstart_pricecut_2The last line in my FlipStart Lab FlipStart 1.0 review from a few months ago is that the mini clamshell PC isn’t worth its original asking price of $2,000.

Now I think I may have to reassess my conclusion because FlipStart has announced that effective immediately, the 30GB handtop with the 1.1GHz Pentium M ULV processor and 5.6-inch display will be available for $1,499. Although still priced several hundred dollars higher than most of its competitors, a $500 reduction is still an incredibly significant move in the right direction. It also makes the newly revealed $150 Snap Camera a bit more appealing.
