Dell Streak accessories show up on Amazon, redirect to Dell

Streak-accessories-amazon

Hoping to save some cash on Dell Streak accessories on Amazon? Right now, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.

Amazon just updated the product pages of all its Streak accessories, which were listed as “currently available” when I checked a few days ago, with new information: the original MSRP, an “Available at external website Dell SMB” message, and two links to the item’s product page over at accessories.us.dell.com. The Streak itselfir?t=streaksmart 20&l=as2&o=1&a=B003XVYBU8 - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here is still listed as being unavailable, which makes me wonder whether we’ll see a redirect there too. If so, then anyone waiting to see Amazon’s price may be disappointed.

Since Amazon is just being used as a portal to Dell’s own site, there’s no benefit to buying from them. You don’t get a lower price, free super saver shipping, a break on tax, or the company’s A-to-Z Guarantee. So if you want official accessories, you need to go to Dell. Coupon codes are pretty common there, so having to buy from them may not be such a bad thing after all.
