Streak Light turns Dell Streak into LED flashlight

Streak-light (1) One of the benefits of having Android 2.1 on your Dell Streak is being able to check out all the great apps that don't work on 1.6. Some are complex and loaded with lots of unique functions, while others are simple and offer just a single feature.

Streak Light is an example of the latter. It's an app created by moneytoo in the xda-developers forum that does nothing but let you use the Streak as a flashlight. Sure, there are flashlight apps in Android Market that display an all-white image on screen that you can use in the dark, but Streak Light is the only one available right now that makes use of the Streak's camera LEDs. It isn't the first LED flashlight app for Android, but it is the first one that works on the Streak.

Streak-light (2)

It isn't the most polished LED flashlight app around, but it works well and was designed specifically for the Streak.

Streak Light previously required root to work on the leaked Eclair update, but now all it needs is the official 2.1 update (build 8105).
