Onkyo remote app gives your HTC EVO control of your entertainment system

OnkyoHeader

As someone who loves his Onkyo surround sound entertainment volume at 11, I despise the remote control for it is just another dust collector on my coffee table. So you can understand my excitement for the soon to be released HTC EVO app that will give you control of any 2011 model network A/V receiver from Onkyo.

Connecting through your home's wireless network, Onkyo's remote app will allow users to do more than just control the volume of their surround sound receiver. Included in the app is the ability to stream media locally stored on your device as well as select the active input source. Another highlight item is the ability to control the output in individual zones in a multi-room distributed audio set-up. Onkyo teases that more features will come with the app but has yet to tell us what those might be.

This will be a free app when it hits the Android Market. An exact date has not been announced by Onkyo; just a vague August release time table has been given. Read on to see some of the teased images of the interface and how it will look.

First we have what I can only assume is a screenshot of the app's splash screen.

Here is what might be the main interface where you can switch between menus.

Finally is what looks to be the input menu where you can select the active device connected to your Onkyo receiver.
