Amazon selling refurbished Kindle Fire for $139 [Updated]

Kindle_fire

Cheap tablets are becoming less and less rare every day. One of the most popular budget tablets is Amazon’s Kindle Fire, and today, the online retailer has made the already-accessible Kindle Fire even more so.

Now, in return for just $139, Amazon will give you a Kindle Fire. However, that lower price only applies to refurbished Fires, so if you’re looking for a brand spanking new one, you’ll still have to pay full price ($199).

Unfortunately, this deal only lasts until the end of today, March 29th, or when Amazon runs out of supplies. When that happens, the company will continue to sell refurbs – at their normal price of $169.

To inject a personal anecdote, let me tell you my experience with refurbished products: they rock. You get a fantastic, like-new product for cheaper than what you’d pay for a new one. Some companies, like Apple, even replace the outer shells of refurbs, along with the internals that need repairing. In other words, a new product.

Let us know in the comments if you are going to pick one up!

Update: And as I hit the publish button, Amazon sells its last $139 refurb. Since that other question no longer makes sense, let me ask you this: did you pick one up?
