If you're someone who is interested in the design aspect that goes into the HTC EVO, in addition to just the specs, then HTC has a special treat for you: an official "making of" video that showcases the company's efforts in producing the HTC EVO 4G LTE.
However, there's also a little surprise in the video: for just a short moment, the image above flashes across the screen, and the viewer is left wondering what exactly that is. Obviously, it's got dual cameras and a dual LED flash, just like the HTC EVO 3D. But it's also got all of the same design components of the just-announced EVO 4G LTE.
Does this mean that HTC is planning on eventually releasing a successor to the EVO 4G LTE that will include 3D functionality? Is this just one prototype of many that will never be released? Is this HTC's way of dropping us a hint, or was it accidentally included in the video when it should not have been?
Until we hear an official explanation from HTC, your guess is as good as mine.
Update: According to Engadget, HTC has confirmed that this was an early mockup in case Sprint was interested in releasing another 3D EVO. However, it didn't make the cut, so we shouldn't take this as an indication of things to come.[The Verge] Thanks, Kevin and Will!
