One of the leaders in remote desktop technology has just released a completely revamped version of its popular offering for Android: Splashtop 2 HD is now available in the Google Play Store, and for a limited time only, it’s completely free.

Yes, you read that correctly: the full version of Splashtop 2 HD is free right now. Then, after an unspecified amount of time, it will begin costing $9.99.

An older version of Splashtop does come preinstalled on some tablets like the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity, and the other tablets in the Transformer lineup, but Splashtop 2 HD offers a completely new user interface and additional features like pinch-to-zoom and enhanced performance.

Also, for $0.99/month or $9.99/year, you can also connect to your PC or Mac anywhere you have a 3G, 4G, or WiFi signal. (I should note that the included version of Splashtop in ASUS tablets offers this functionality for free.)

In any case, this is a great app for a price that no one can really argue with. You can download it at the link below.
