HTC EVO 3D receives small software OTA update

evo 3d app update - for some reason we don't have an alt tag hereThe HTC EVO 3D is currently receiving a small application OTA update, which you can download and install right away by heading to SettingsSystem updates HTC software update. However, this is not a standard OTA update; your software version will not change and your phone won’t boot into recovery to install this. Instead, it’s an update to the Personalize system application, which is available both in the app drawer and in your settings menu.

Since there is nothing else included with this update, it should be safe to install if you are rooted – you don’t need the stock recovery, and there isn’t anything special like bootloaders or radios.

In fact, as one Good and EVO reader pointed out, “It takes no time to load – even on the 3G network.” And we all know how Sprint’s 3G network has been lately.

At this point, I’m not really noticing much difference in the Personalize app, but do let us know if you see any performance improvements or other miscellaneous enhancements.

Thanks, Jason!
