Apple releases Supplemental Updates for OS X 10.8.2, 10.7.5
Apple today released two Supplemental Updates, one for each of the currently-supported versions of OS X. Unfortunately, neither were full dot updates, though both address a few issues that should tide users over until the next versions are unleashed.
First up is Mountain Lion. 10.8.2’s Supplemental Update squashes the following four bugs:
- Resolves an issue that may cause certain Japanese characters to appear incorrectly in Mail
- Allows Safari to access secure sites when parental controls are enabled
- Addresses an issue that may prevent systems with more than 64 GB of RAM from starting up
- Resolves an issue that may cause DVD Player to unexpectedly quit
OS X Lion version 10.7.5 also got a Supplemental Update that fixes two problems with the current build:
- Resolves an issue that may cause Time Machine backups to take a very long time to complete
- Addresses an issue that prevents certain applications signed with a Developer ID from launching
Mountain Lion’s update weighs in at 26.65MB, while Lion’s is only a mere 2MB.
