Goodbye New York Cheesecake, hello Nougat

Android Nougat from @android Twitter feed
Bugdroid had a bad run-in with some fellas from Long Island who attached some Nougat to his feet, took him to Soda Lake, and told him to pay up or next time he was going in with Mentos

Google’s officially codenamed Android N “Nougat” ending speculation that it was going to be named New York Cheesecake. It’s also the first code name I think that is what most consider an ingredient as opposed to an actual treat as Nougat is usually packaged in bar or log form, coated with chocolate.

Previous version of Android were Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop, and Marshmallow.

I’d hoped for Nutella personally, but oh well, those dreams are dead.

Android N, for those on the betas, looks about like M with some enhancements. Most notably at least on the tablets a multi-window mode. I’ve seen the same mode on a rooted ROM I run running M, so it’s been in testing for a while I’d guess.

In case you’re wondering what candy bars include Nougat, a short list of US candies is 3 Musketeers, Baby Ruth, Mars Bar, Milky Way, Snickers, Toblerone, and several others I’m probably missing.

Thanks Bill Van for the heads up!
