Google Assistant has some new voice options

2018 12 13 13.18.32 - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

Google’s added Australian and British accents to their assistant, however these are only available in the US currently.

The voices are both female, and are named Sydney Harbour Blue and British Racing Green.

This does not appear to be an APK download, and it’s region specific. Not seeing it on my phone but not doubting the Google PR and video. It’ll either work or it won’t for you today.

The listed instructions for getting it are:

navigate to “Settings” on your phone, tap on the “Assistant” tab, and select “Assistant voice.” You’ll now see two new voices that you can select, either “Sydney Harbour Blue” for the Australian voice, or “British Racing Green” for the British voice.

However, this doesn’t seem to be the case on my phone… on mine it’s longpress to get Assistant up, topright explore icon, top right hamburger, settings, Assistant, Assistant voice.

I’m looking forward to having two more options for voices that my kids will despise because they’re not miss Google.
