Just in time for the holidays Google Meet allows you to silence aunt Janice’s yearly lizard people rant

Ever been in a meeting with that one person who either won’t shut up or keeps picking their nose or forgets to wear pants? Well, Google Meet now lets you mute them in the meeting and turn their video off.

The feature is rolling out now to Google Workspace users, and will show in the next bit for everyone.

That there’s been no way to silence/turn off video but keep members in is just kind of odd. Something you’d think would have been there from the beginning. Eh, it’s there now in time for Google to come up with a new name for the product.
