New rooted Gingerbread update (version 4.22.651.2) ready for flashing on HTC EVO
Okay, all you rooted HTC EVO 4G users who've been sitting on the sidelines while your non-rooted brethren have been running Sprint's official Android 2.3 update (version 4.22.651.2), it's your turn to play now.
The first rooted new stock ROM is ready to roll in both odexed and deodexed varities, thanks to the quick work of xHausx from the xda-developers forum. A standalone kernel is coming soon as well, but for now, anyone with a rooted EVO 4G can get in on the new update fun without losing root by flashing one of the .zips through ClockworkMod, Amon_RA, ROM Manager, and so on.
Be sure to make a Nandroid of your current setup in case anything goes wrong, back up all your apps/data, and wipe data/cache/Dalvik for good measure. Lately I've been having to do this last step 3-5 times in order to boot into a new ROM properly, but your experience may vary.
