Working WiFi Tether now available for HTC EVO 3D [Updated]

Wifi-tether-evo3d A few days ago, we told you about a cumbersome workaround to get WiFi Tether working on the HTC EVO 3D. Luckily, thanks to developer dodava, we have an updated apk that seems to bring fully functional WiFi tethering over both 3G and 4G to the EVO 3D, without restricting access to just Google sites like before, and without requiring any extra apps to be running in the background.

To get this up and running, be sure to uninstall any previous versions of WiFi Tether or Wireless Tether, and then download the apk from here. In addition, you must enable MSS clamping and Routing fix under Menu > Settings.

Just a quick word of caution: this is a modified apk, and is not the official version of WiFi Tether, which is actually the beta version of Wireless Tether. The developer is currently offering this modified app to anyone who feels brave enough to test it on their own devices and offer feedback. That being said, users have reported a high success rate.

The developer has already submitted this bug fix to the WiFi Tether developer team for inclusion in a future update, but it's available for early adopters now. Give it a spin if you are feeling adventurous, and let us know if it works for you.

Update: It looks like WiFi Tether 3.1 beta 3 is now officially available for download, and it works flawlessly on the EVO 3D.
