Alleged Samsung Galaxy S III test photo shows up online

Gsiii_test_photo

The picture above was allegedly taken by a Samsung Galaxy S III phone, the long-rumored sequel to the company's popular Galaxy S II series of phones.

The EXIF data for this photo is quite telling. The model number that was found in this picture is Samsung GT-I9300, which is reportedly the same number that's set for the Galaxy S III. Also found is the size of the sensor, which is 8.1MP.

Now, you might be a little disappointed in the picture quality above. I know I would be if I didn't know that it's supposedly an HDR photo taken with shaky hands, too. But luckily, that's exactly what happened; in other words, don't think that this kind of picture is what the new III series will be capable of.

I always like to see leaked shots of or from a rumored device. It's one of the best ways to decide if you want to spend money on a device. I know it isn't the best picture, but I've seen far worse HDR pictures in the past. Samsung could be producing one heck of a camera here.
