Good and EVOSoftware Updates

Have you received the Jelly Bean update on your HTC EVO 4G LTE yet?

EVO 4G LTE Jelly Bean - for some reason we don't have an alt tag hereIt is looking more and more like last night’s leak was real, everyone. Sprint just updated its online product listing for the HTC EVO 4G LTE, listing the operating system as Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Throughout the night, multiple users on various forums have posted screenshots of the Sprint Playbook, detailing the update – the fact that verification is coming from many different people lends credence to the original leak. And the timing of the Jelly Bean update explains the EVO’s recent PlayStation Mobile certification, too.

While the EVO 4G LTE OTA update list in the Sprint Community forums hasn’t been updated yet, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before it will be – especially since Sprint is officially advertising the EVO as a Jelly Bean device now. So now, the waiting game begins.

If this is anything like previous major updates in the EVO line, well, we don’t really know when it will come. Sometimes, these updates are available to download early in the morning, around 3:00 a.m. Central. Other times, they don’t become available until the afternoon. And very rarely, these updates have started rolling out in the early evening hours. In other words, we don’t really have a consistent pattern to follow.

None of us at G&E have gotten the update yet, but that doesn’t mean I’m not obsessively hitting the update button every five minutes (Settings > System updates > HTC software update). But how about you? Let us know when you receive the update, and help out others in the G&E community!

I have a feeling it’s not going to be a very productive day today…
