TrekStor readies 250GB DataStation pocket t.ub

Datastation_pocket_tubUnsolicited press releases that appear in my inbox usually don’t interest me, but this one about TrekStor’s upcoming USB-powered portable external hard drive caught my eye.

Whether it was the DataStation pocket t.ub‘s whopping 250GB storage capacity (2.5" 5400 rpm HDD), compact 5.2" x 3.0" x 0.75" aluminum housing, included "high quality case," or just its strange name (t.ub? Really?), I couldn’t resist making a mental note of its mid-July release date. The device is compatible with Windows, Linux, and Mac computers and features a one-touch backup function that would’ve come in handy last night when my aging iBook let out what I believe was its last breath (ah, maybe that’s why I was interested).

The 9-ounce pocket t.ub carries an MSRP of $250 but can already be preordered from J&R for $200.
