Good and EVO

VaelPak 3D RC1 now available for your HTC EVO 3D

Vp3d Well, the wait is finally over for rooted HTC EVO 3D owners. Jim (Vaelek) over at Vaelek.com has just released his VaelPak 3D Release Candidate custom ROM for the device.

Fans previous VaelPak works for the HTC EVO 4G (AOSP and Sense versions alike) will attest to the stability of the ROM, the rapid deployment of fixes and new features, and the incredible support provided by the users and the developer on VaelPak.com.

Known issues of VP 3D RC1 read like a nit-picker's last attempt to find imperfection in an otherwise perfect product, and there are things obviously left to do to remove that RC1 designation, but it looks good so far.

The features list is a page long, but some of the VP 3D specific features are the inclusion of the VP Forums app (think a themed Tapatalk that gets you to people who can help), the claim of being the only non-Sense ROM to be able to configure the HTC lockscreen, CIQ tracking removed by default, and tons more. This is an early release candidate, so it's bound to have some bugs, but thee severity of issues in Vaelek's works is usually fairly limited.

So if you've been itching for a chance to flash a shiny new ROM on your EVO 3D, go ahead and try this and let me know how it works for you.

And if you've been holding off getting an EVO 3D until you saw what Jim was going to do, well now you know. Make sure to obey as many of the local traffic regulations as you're able to while running to the Sprint store, and try and at least spend a couple of minutes with Sense for 3D so you can appreciate the change.
