Google Reader and Docs updated with Ice Cream Sandwich features

Google-Reader1-180x300Ice Cream Sandwich here and Ice Cream Sandwich there, the latest version of Android is popping up on EVOs everywhere.

Earlier this year, a lot of Google's products (Gmail, Google Plus, Google Search) have looked – well, more modern. Lately, the ones that have been getting revamped have had their Android counterparts  modernized and decidely ICS-ish as well.

Whether or not the EVO 3D, 4G, or Design 4G will be updated remains to be seen, but in the meantime, we can reap some of the benefits now.

Two products that recently received desktop upgrades also received Android updates: Google Reader and Google Docs.

However, if you do update your Reader or your Docs, you will notice that your app looks nothing like the image that accompanies this article. This is because the new styling is only for ICS.

There are some good upgrades cooked in, though, especially the ability to navigate through documents and RSS feeds by swiping.

That said, I would still like to see the ICS sexiness on my non-ICS EVOs. Who else thinks HTC should get on this as soon as possible?
