New bug: Quick settings widgets don’t work on HTC EVO 4G LTE when docked

Widgets bug while docked - for some reason we don't have an alt tag here

Here’s another bug you can add to the ever-growing list of bugs that came with the latest Jelly Bean update for the HTC EVO 4G LTE: quick settings widgets don’t work when the EVO is connected to a car dock.

The quick setting widgets are those handy widgets that HTC provides on Sense devices, giving users quick and easy ways to toggle various settings on and off, such as airplane mode, auto rotate, auto sync, Bluetooth, data roaming, GPS, mobile data, screen brightness, sound profiles, WiFi, etc. However, when docked in the official Sprint car dock for the EVO, these widgets no longer function – they don’t even indicate which settings are actually on, as you can see in the image above.

I’ve tested other widgets while using the car dock, and this problem seems to be isolated to these particular widgets. Furthermore, I’ve confirmed that it doesn’t really matter whether or not Car app is actually running in the background (I don’t like the HTC Car app, personally, so I never use it).

This is a very disappointing bug, as I often use these widgets in the car to quickly connect my phone to Bluetooth, turn on GPS for navigation, and to turn WiFi off so I can maintain a consistent 3G connection while driving around. Hopefully, this will be fixed soon in an upcoming update.
