Another Sprint device gets WiFi calling, but still not the HTC One M8

Another Sprint device has just received an OTA update that enables WiFi calling – to be specific, it’s the LG G Flex. It’s actually a fairly small update that also adds an HD Voice icon, Google’s patch for SMS security, and an updated email signature. WiFi calling is the biggest news here.

This particular update is the latest in a series that has enabled the feature on a variety of Sprint devices, including the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy S4, along with some other less popular Samsung devices. Notably, the HTC One M8 remains out of the WiFi calling party, but hopefully this is a sign that Sprint is working on this feature for its entire device lineup in the near future.

This update also comes right after Sprint announced that WiFi calling would be available internationally, as well, after months of only being allowed in domestic areas where a CDMA signal was already present.
