HTC may also be working on a mid-range HTC One M8i

HTC One M8While most of the attention on HTC in the tech blogosphere has centered on HTC’s upcoming announcement of the next HTC One, it appears that HTC may also be working on a new variant on the HTC One M8. If the latest rumors are to be believed, it will be a mid-range version of its sibling called the HTC One M8i.

GSM Arena was able to dig up some info on this potential device, which will have some new features but many of the same specs as the original M8. This includes a 5-inch display, 2GB RAM, microSD card slot, BoomSound speakers, a Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) chip with two sets of four Cortex-A53 cores (one running at 1.7GHz and the other at 1.0GHz), a 13MP back camera, 5MP front-facing camera, dual LED flash, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, and a 3000mAh battery. All of this will run Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTCs Sense 7.0.

The phone will also be available in several colors, including silver, gray, and gold.
