I’m a big fan of Boldbeast call recorder as I have straight up documented conversations with people and when they claim they asked me something and it fell through I can shoot them over the call. Also if my boss asks me to do something while I’ve got two kids singing “Daddy Finger” there’s a really good chance I can hear it later when I’m not piloting a 4500 pound hunk of death metal.
Unfortunately the ability for third party call recorders is reportedly going away in Android Pie unless you root the phone according to the makers of Boldbeast and Android Call Reporter.
I’m going to skip posting a rehash of this as Android Police covered it well. It’s looking like a sad day for unrooted Android going forward.
Well then, looks like by Android Pie level I’ve got a reason to reenter the root world again.
Then again, maybe we’ll see something natively integrated by that point.
