ICYMI: Google Maps adds Waze reporting buttons

I’m not sure when this rolled out, I found it on the 26th and promptly was about to write about it before my phone became mired in a pretty useless 3G network. But Google Maps now has the ability (if it’s rolled out to you) to report crashes, speed traps, and slowdowns.

Google Maps do do do do do dah
Today’s wordpress bug doesn’t allow me to upload a screenshot unless I rotate it. This doesn’t apply to photos. After it’s uploaded I can’t rotate it. Great time to be alive and writing in tech.

These reports then are aggregated to re-route traffic suggestions, which I believe is why Google keeps attempting to send me down 35 minute longer routes than usual as of late. Pretty sure I know who in the neighborhood is reporting incidents and slowdowns as an attempt to get people off of their street and funnelled into another.

Anyway, use with caution, and please realize that Wazing traffic off of your street means you’re shoving it down neighboring streets.
