Our Samsung throttlegate nightmare shows signs of ending

The slow news day event/national nightmare where Samsung’s game service was throttling games for thermal and battery life has been addressed and fixes are rolling out in South Korea at the moment. The rest of the world will probably follow in the next patch or two.

The fix involves allowing users to control what happens in Game Booster. Looks like it’s for the S22 to start but will be likely on all the other affected devices shortly. A button or two is being added to disable or configure.

Game performance will only be throttled if you want to preserve battery life or temperature.

Our long national nightmare is over… the wailing and lamentations of the slightly slowed will finally be put to rest. Queue up complaints about phones getting hot, slightly too warm hands, and decreased battery life when playing 500 FPS games at 15.7ghz refresh.
