SEGA emulating Musk begins acquisition of faded bird-based platform

Remember Angry Birds and the subsequent cash grab that was the Angry Birds Movie , the sequel, several streaming shows, and multiple follow-ups to the original game? Well for about $771 million dollars all of that could be yours, that is if SEGA doesn’t get it done first.

It’s listed as a friendly takeover, details can be found here.

Sonic in the Angry Birds hellscape.
What Sonic the Hedgehog and an Angry Bird (Chuck) might look like navigating a post-apocalyptic hellscape trapped in a streaming TV show.

As long as SEGA doesn’t release a Sonic-cut-and-pasted Angry Birds right out of the gate, they’ve probably got a chance of breathing new life into the series.

Nothing against this, the Rovio Entertainment team did an amazing job with a game that takes a flying creature that inexplicably cannot fly and uses it as a kinetic object to fight an ursine menace. I’ll be interested to see what direction SEGA can take the product…
