Samsung Q1 Ultra: Everything you want to know
UPDATE (5-7-07): Samsung unveils five Q1 Ultra UMPCs
In about 8 hours, Samsung will hold its 2nd generation UMPC press conference to spill all the details on its (repetitively named) Q1 Ultra. Some high quality product shots will likely be available then, too. But who can wait that long?
There’s been enough early information revealed by reputable sources to piece together a complete picture, with full specs, pricing, availability, and a good number of images from the CeBIT display.

There are several interesting bits here, most notably the "depending on processor" price range. The Centrino Pro, I think, has a frontside bus of 667MHz to 800MHz, so either variations of it will be offered or the 800MHz is fixed and we’ll be able to choose from the CPUs in the other Q1s (900MHz Celeron M, 1GHz Via C7, 1GHz Pentium M).
Considering that the fingerprint scanner and dual cameras are being called "optional extras," I would think the price range should be depending on configuration, not processor. It seems highly improbable to me that Samsung would build several different casings: one without the fingerprint scanner and cameras, one with the scanner and cameras, one with just the scanner, and one with just the dual cameras (can you just get one camera instead?).
The thumboards look promising, if not slightly cramped. It’s hard to tell for sure from the picture, but the keys look like they protrude about the same amount as those on the Pepper Pad 3. From the side, I think the Q1 Ultra might be a tad bone/dumbbell shaped, with the center being 0.90" thick and the ends fattening up to 0.94". The chubby ends should make typing more comfortable.
