Dell quietly changes Streak purchase date from “late July” to “soon”

Streak-changed-faq

If you need something more official than a tweet to really believe that the Dell Streak won't be released this week as originally promised, then you might want to revisit the pre-sale sign-up page. In the FAQ, you'll see that it now indicates that the device will be "available for purchase soon." It previously said "available for purchase in July."

This change comes after Computerworld spoke with Matt Parretta (also known as MattatDell on Twitter), who said that "the Dell Streak won't go on sale in July" and that he didn't know about the date in the FAQ. "I never said that," he said. Yeah, okay, Matt. Whatever you say.

The Streak product page has also been changed, just now actually (hours after the FAQ was "fixed").

This is how the page looked when I first starting writing this post:

And here's how it looks now:

Streak-soon

Don't try to be sneaky, Dell. We're all watching you.

Thanks, Edmond & Jose!
