New root method released for updated HTC EVO 4G

Evo-update-rootIf the main reason stopping you from applying the latest software update (version 1.47.651.1) to the HTC EVO is that you don't want to give up all that root access you currently have, then feel free to hit the OK button the next time you get the pop-up asking whether you want to update (or update manually through Settings -> System Updates).

An anonymous user has already developed a method for rooting updated EVOs and worked with a member of the xda-developers forum to share it with everyone. There's even a guide and video tutorial on how to do it!

The forum thread is already 68 pages long with 672 posts as I write this, so there's a ton of stuff to read through if you don't feel comfortable rooting your EVO with this new method before hearing other people's experiences first. And if you have the time to do that, could I bum an extra hour or two from you? 24 hours isn't cutting it for me.

Anyone try it yet?

Thanks, leon!
