Kushdeck brings Android Gingerbread 2.3.5 to HTC EVO 4G

Deck Well, it looks like Kushdeck is at it again. Last month, we took a brief look at his 2.3.4 Gingerbread ROM for the HTC EVO 4G, and now he's released a brand new beta version (1.3b).

Kushdeck has updated the ROM to the latest version of (phone) Android: 2.3.5. Gingerbread 2.3.5 is not a major update to Android (much like 2.3.4 wasn't). The features it brings are mostly directed at the phone that received the official update, the Samsung Nexus S 4G, as it includes better 4G connectivity, fully unlocks the NFC capabilities of that phone, and apparently turns off free tethering (boo!).

For rooted EVO 4G users, this is really more of a proof-of-concept ROM. You can looked to your other friends rockin' Android phones and say, "What version of Android are you running?" When they reply 2.3.3 or 2.3.4, you can say, "That was so yesterday, I'm on 2.3.5 and I'm loving it!

The ROM is still an early beta, but Kushdeck has done a solid job of porting it over to EVO 4G and I haven't hit a snag yet.

Here's hoping us OG EVO users will continue to see devs showing our dying device some lingering love!
