HBOOT 1.50.00 close to getting S-OFF on HTC EVO 3D?

Evil-dev-null

The current Holy Grail in the world of the HTC EVO 3D might be close to being found, thanks to developer Evil_DevNull. According to his Twitter feed earlier today, he's found three possible ways to crack HBOOT 1.50.00, which would grant S-OFF permissions to the device and truly open up the EVO 3D to the developer community the way it should be.

Current EVO 3D owners who are unfortunate to have HTC's latest HBOOT are unable to root the device using the Revolutionary tool, and are forced to use HTC's official unlock method. And, as we all know by now, there are many reasons not to want to do this: in addition to HTC knowing that you've rooted your phone, this official method doesn't actually give you S-OFF. This means you have to jump through a few extra unecessary hoops to flash kernels, radios, etc.

Evil_DevNull has promised to work on this possible new solution through Thanksgiving until it's ready for the public. So, fingers crossed, this could turn out to be quite the awesome holiday weekend.
