ROM picks: Olympus Trinity XE Titan HD for HTC EVO 3D

Attachment[1]The Olympus Trinity ROM series, which combines the best elements of the GSM EVO 3D, CDMA EVO 3D, and HTC Sensation XE, has been my daily driver for a few weeks now.

Developer theANDROIDosX has been hard at work on this ROM lately, cooking up a Christmas gift for us. It has the usual stuff the Trinity series is known for, like dual core, Beats by Dre audio, ROM stability, and the largest ROM package I have ever seen with many games and apps included.

But the new HD version most notably adds the Sony Bravia Mobile Engine that boasts crisp HD videos and photos. I've used it for a day and made some astonishingly good photos in that time (but then again there's always the chance that I became a master photographer in the course of two days). Additional camera enhancements include HDR and panoramic modes, though these have been around for a few versions.

Although the ROM itself has not had any stability issues, there was a kernel included a couple of versions back that caused some instability; if you ran across that one, they're back to Freeza's stock dual core kernel.

theANDROIDosX has declared that this ROM is final and at its peak, which may mean no more development in this series. Then again, it may mean the next version will be running Ice Cream Sandwich.

Either way, this ROM is great and I encourage you to check it out.
