Got random calendar events in Google? Welcome to the club

9to5Google is reporting a fairly widepsread calendar issue in which random things from users gmail messages are making their way onto Google Calendar events. While Google Calendar / Gmail integration is pretty cool for getting flight info out and such, users are seeing things such as FedEx shipment notifications and spam suddenly making it onto their calendar.

Events from Gmail is where the calendar events are popping up from

Fix temporarily is to go to Google Calendar settings and turn off Events from Gmail for any accounts you have being checked.

It’s probably fixed or about to be fixed, so make sure to turn that back on in a day or two if you use the feature.

In the meantime, enjoy the accidental spam calendar events.
