META Threads reaches about a quarter of Twitter’s user base in four days

Threads reached 86 million users today, which is about a quarter of the Twitter user base. Made all the more impressive by Threads not being particularly good or user friendly yet. Maybe it will be, maybe it won’t, but I think the main thing here is it’s not Twitter.

It’s also not particularly multi-account friendly. I tried getting Pocketables in there, we’ve got an insta, but the account has been inaccessible since the day Threads launched on Instagram.

I’m betting against Zuck on this one, I don’t think it’s going to actually take hold once Musk stops doing hot takes and making changes to what once was good about Twitter. I suspect Elon will figure out that the way to win here is to simply not do anything more to his social media platform… but who knows.

Hopefully Threads will get up to at least Twitter functionality soon.
