Black UMID mbook M1 with and without 3G now available for preorder
Several months have gone by since we were first introduced to the black UMID mbook M1 with its matching black keyboard and according to two emails I received today, both the 3G and non-3G versions of the unit will begin shipping next week.
Justek has a limited stock of black and white 3G UMIDs en route to their Australian offices with Windows XP, 32GB SSD, 512MB RAM, and that new finger-friendly UI we caught a glimpse of in June. Current exchange rates put the cost of the Atom-powered clamshell at a little over $1,000.
If the built-in 3G is of no use to you, then Dynamism is the place to go for the non-3G black UMID. Prices there start at $599 for the 16GB model and top out at $749 for the 32GB SSD. Like the 3G version, both units run XP on 512MB RAM and Intel's 1.33GHz Atom Z520 processor.
I've still got a black 3G model on reserve and will post pics and other relevant details that weren't already in my original UMID mbook M1 review when it arrives.
