HTC EVO 4G expected to get Gingerbread OTA update fix today [Updated]
If last week's rumor turns out to be true, then the HTC EVO 4G should be getting a new software update today that will fix two of the most widely cited problems about the official Gingerbread update released earlier this month: broken Netflix and false voicemail notifications.
Anyone get it yet?
Don't worry if you didn't. Sprint is either rolling out it in waves or it just missed the purported target launch date.
Either way, when you do receive a notification that an OTA is available, go ahead and accept it if you don't care about being/staying rooted and definitely reject it if you do.
Although we all want to be running the latest and greatest on our EVOs, installing an OTA on a rooted phone is never a good idea, especially on day one. It won't be long before our awesome EVO devs put out some rooted stock builds and custom ROMs based on the new software, anyway, so don't feel guilty about declining Sprint's request to download and install anything on your phone.
Update: Version 4.24.651.1 goes live!
